This book’s inspiration grew from the Social Justice initiative forwarded by the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith Inc (COOLJC). The book is a brief biblical survey of the theology of social justice with a specific focus on the Acts of the Apostles. God’s mandate for His people to Do Justice flows throughout the pages of scripture with a central focus on the apostolic church, whose central belief is Apostolic Faith. The Social Justice initiative is the central theme for the 105th year of COOLJC. However, the involvement in social justice concerns and activities dates back to the organization’s infancy. Bishop Robert Clarence Lawson, establishmentarian and Apostle of the Church of Christ (later renamed Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ) was one of the pioneering figures in addressing the needs of social inequality in the communities served by the growing organization. He planted seeds to meet the needs of poverty persisting in society. The seeds would later germinate and sprout out into other organizations.
